This is my very first critique, mind you, so I may be a little bad at this. But I have to say that I did look at this for a good ten minutes. What caught me was the situation in the drawing- something very simple and realistic.
But then, what I got from the picture was something akin to melancholy. A man sitting alone in a room, watching the bright fireworks outside is something most would consider plain. How he's all alone in this room, by himself, while watching the cheerful colors jump up and burst in the air can be a little sad.
It makes me wonder what he's thinking about. How he feels.
The other thing that's nice is the lighting. It's pretty accurate (to me, at least) because of how the color from the fireworks peeks into the room and sheds some light inside.
When I look at this, it could be my eyes being strange, but it looks like it's tilting or slanted just a little bit. Other than that, everything seems all well and good!
All in all, I really love this piece. I'm a first-time writer when it comes to a Critique, so I apologize in advance if this comes off as short and not too in depth. But sharing my thoughts on the piece is what I'm doing, so I'm taking a shot at this.
I also looked at some of your art and I admit you are very good. This is one of my favorite pieces. I love the wall detail and..well... everything about it. It was nicely done, despite the few mistakes you admitted too. I find it to still be very beautiful. ^^
